This is reflected in the phrases Sorry I don’t treat you like a goddess, is that what you want me to do? Sorry I don’t treat you like you’re perfect, like all your little loyal subjects do. She probably got offended that Bubblegum shows this agape for others and not enough for her. Maybe PB is one of the only friendships she had, which is why she cares so much? In “Marceline’s Closet” in her diary song, she states throughout the last 500 years of her life in her diary that she has no friends. Maybe it’s because she’s learned, through her lonely eternity to cherish even the small things? As it has also been shown in eps like “It Came from the Nightosphere.” and “Memory of a Memory.” Marceline takes things to heart. ![]() Yes, it could be slightly justified that she did that to save Ooo, however FP does still have feelings (which comes the question of why she didn’t make a stabilization cure, but that’s besides he point).īeing that PB has this blatant compassion for the Candy People, it perhaps closed her off toward others. It doesn’t seem that- other than Finn and Jake - that she shows any compassion over, like locking up Flame Princess. As it has been shown, Princess Bubblegum shows a lot of compassion, agape over her candy citizens. I used to believe that it was conflicting personalities, because the song I’m Just Your Problem as I had heard it was because Marceline thinks PB is a “miss perfect” while in turn Bubblegum thinks Marceline is an ungraceful ruffian. With all these theories about how Marceline and Bubblegum seem like they are no longer friends: PB’s royal duties/responsibilities, or Marceline leaving PB because of her treatment of Ice King, or conflicting personalities being some popular ones, I decided to throw my hat into the ring.
